Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr will soon expire and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is looking increasingly likely to leave and sign with a team appearing in next month's Club World Cup, according to . With speculation rife around the 40-year-old's future, the report notes Moroccan side Wydad and Mexican outfit Monterrey as two clubs who could snap the former Real Madrid star up on a short-term deal for the newly-expanded FIFA tournament.

Wydad won the 2022 African Champions League and take on Manchester City, Juventus and Al-Ain next month, while Monterrey, the current club of Ronaldo's old team-mate Sergio Ramos, face Inter, River Plate and Urawa Red Diamonds. However, they are not the only teams interested in snaring one of the game's all-time greats for the tournament.
